During a routine inspection

During this inspection we met with most of the people using the service. Five people were out of the home going for tea in Enfield with staff and the activity coordinator.

People we spoke with confirmed that staff communicated well with them and asked for their permission before any care or treatment took place. They told us that staff would always respect their wishes and preferences. One person commented 'I tell them what I want to do.'

People who use the service were positive about the care and treatment they received from staff at the home. They confirmed that staff assisted them when they needed support with their care and that staff were very helpful. One person commented, 'they really do look after you well.' People told us they had no complaints about the service but knew how to make a complaint if they needed to.

People told us that they were satisfied with the food provided by the home. People described the food as "good' and 'nice.' One person commented 'we get a choice.' Another person told us 'you can have what you want.'

People confirmed that the home was clean. One person we spoke with commented 'people clean regularly. It's very clean.' Staff confirmed they had recently undertaken infection control training and they were about to undertake a written examination to consolidate their knowledge and understanding.
