During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who told us that they were happy living at Westfield. One person said 'I would soon tell people if I wasn't happy.'

All the people we spoke with told us there were always plenty of staff on duty who took time to talk with them if they were worried about anything.

One person told us 'The staff are excellent. The care I receive is wonderful, as is the food. There is always plenty of good, home cooked food.'

We observed that people seemed very relaxed and content and this was confirmed by those we spoke with.

A relative told us that they were always made welcome and staff kept them informed about their relative. 'My relative has always been happy here. They couldn't be looked after better anywhere else.'

During an inspection in response to concerns

A person using the service told us that they had been coming to Westfield Care Home for the last five years. They came for respite care every couple of months. They told us that they found staff friendly and helpful was really satisfied with the care that they received. They also like the food and found it very good. They enjoyed the activities provided by the home and felt safe and comfortable. They stated that they felt a little cold on the day on the review.

Another person using the service reported that they were very happy living in Westfield care home and felt very well cared for by the staff. They said that staff were friendly and approachable and 'treat me nice.' They told us that the quality of the food was good.

A person using the service told us that the food was good and they liked their keyworker who was from India and found him interesting. They told us that they found it a little bit cold in the sitting room area when the heating was off.

One of the people using the service told us that they knew they were unwell in their head and that the staff did what they could to help them. They said the food wasn't bad but they missed their own cooking and wanted to go home.
