During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not speak to people using the service as part of this follow up inspection. The views of people using the service were obtained during our last inspection which was undertaken on 18th November 2013.

We reviewed the records of two people who use the service as part of this follow up inspection. The records were selected randomly for people receiving the regulated activity 'personal care'. Overall, files viewed contained evidence that people's needs had been assessed and kept under review.

During a routine inspection

During this review we visited Mosslands Sheltered Housing complex. We spoke with the registered manager, three staff and five people who receive support from the service.

People who used the service provided by Mosslands Care and Support confirmed that they were treated with respect and their dignity was maintained. People also told us that they were satisfied with the standard of care provided and were of the opinion that staff understood their needs.

Comments received included: 'The staff have treated me great. I am of the view that they understand my needs and I've nothing to grumble about'; 'The standard of care I have received is very good. I'm satisfied with everything and I receive good care'; 'In my opinion you couldn't get a better place to live in later life. I have four visits a day and I've never been let down once'; 'I love it here. I have a good relationship with the carers and they are exceptionally kind and caring people who have always done their best for me.'

Systems were in place to offer protection to the people who use the service from abuse and people spoken with confirmed that they felt safe and had no concerns regarding the care provided. No concerns, complaints or allegations were received from the people using the service during the visit.
