During a routine inspection

Prior to our inspection we reviewed all the information we had received from the provider. We spoke with three people who were attending appointments at the clinic to establish their views on the quality of service provision. We spoke with the registered provider who was also the nurse practitioner and the receptionist. We looked at service information and records.

People told us that the staff at the clinic promoted their respect and dignity at all times. We also saw staff supporting and interacting with people in a respectful manner whilst maintaining an appropriate level of professionalism.

We found the premises to be well maintained and hygienic. People told us, 'The clinic is lovely and clean,' whilst another said, 'I have always found the clinic to be extremely clean and hygienic.'

People told us they felt the staff employed at the clinic had the right competencies, knowledge, qualifications, skills and experience to meet their individual needs. One person told us, 'I cannot fault the service I get here, all the staff are excellent and very knowledgeable.'

People told us they felt confident in reporting any concerns or complaints to the manager. One person told us, 'I have no concerns at all. If I did I would speak to the manager. She is very approachable and I feel confident that any issues would be addressed.'

During a routine inspection

We were able to speak with three patients during our inspection. They told us they had received enough information at the time of their initial consultation to make an informed choice about the type of procedures on offer and the suitability of them in meeting their individual needs and aspirations.

They told us they had received written information about their planned procedure and had been offered a period of time in which to reflect on their decision and cancel treatment if they wished. One patient told us, "After the initial consultation I was provided with a telephone number to call if I had any additional questions. It also gave me the opportunity to go home and decide if I wanted to go ahead with the treatment." Another patient said, 'They went through everything in detail. They took my medical history and asked me about any tablets I was on. The consultation was very thorough, in my opinion.'

Patients told us that they felt confident in discussing any areas of service provision with the registered manager. They also felt confident that any concerns or complaints would be listened to and addressed. One patient told us, 'The service is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. If I did have any problems I feel that they would be sorted out for me, I am totally confident in the quality of the service.'
