During a routine inspection

During this inspection we were able to visit two people who received support in their own homes. We also spoke with two relatives and four members of staff who worked for the agency. Comments from the relatives included "we're more than happy" and "very professional".

We saw evidence of thorough assessments of need and support planning. The support plans identified what people could do for themselves and parts of the task or activity where support was needed. We saw that behavioural guidelines and protocols identified things that might upset a person and how they should be helped. This meant that care staff were provided with the necessary information to be able to avoid or diffuse potentially difficult situations where people may have become upset or exhibited challenging behaviours.

Staff spoken with during the inspection were all well motivated and dedicated. Staff said that they enjoyed their jobs and felt well supported by the agency's management. Staff said that they were always able to contact a more senior member of staff if they required advice or support.

The agency had effective systems in place to monitor the quality of the service offered. These included regular audits and satisfaction questionnaires.

During a routine inspection

During this inspection we were able to visit two people who were receiving a service in their own home. We also spoke with three relatives and two social care professionals on the telephone to gauge their views on the service offered by the agency.

During the day we spoke with seven members of staff who told us about their experience of working for the agency.

People that we met, and spoke with on the phone, were very happy with the support which they received from the agency. One person said 'I get all the help I need and am very happy.'

Professionals said that they were impressed by the level of support provided and the consistent high quality of the service.

People we spoke with praised the staff who worked for the agency. Comments included; 'The staff are very professional,' 'All staff are sensible and know their job' and 'They are all kind and nice.'

The agency had a safeguarding policy and procedure. Everyone asked said that they were confident that any issues of concern would be appropriately responded to.
