On the day of the visit people who lived in the home, their relatives and visitors were interviewed and asked their views about the service. Feedback was limited from people living at Westover Close due to their level of communication, we were however able to make general observations of people's wellbeing, as further evidence of inclusion.

One person spoken with confirmed they were encouraged to express their views openly. They said staff were friendly and always on hand to talk to. They confirmed they were very happy living in the house and knew how to raise issues with their key worker or parents.

Visitors said, ''Staff are lovely and very caring. They are very good. They treat people as individuals.'

We saw people were appropriately dressed and there was good attention paid to levels of personal hygiene, which helped to promote people's dignity.

We made some observations of the support given to people in the main lounge. We saw this was positive and people were well supported. There was sufficient staff available and care was delivered at a good pace and was not rushed.

People were relaxed and interacted freely. Those people who were more dependant and had communication difficulties were approached positively and given appropriate levels of contact by the staff.

We spoke with one visitor who told us their relative 'Couldn't be happier' and 'The staff are working to try and make [resident] more independent.' They said the standard of care was consistent and their relative was being well cared for.

We also spoke with a visiting health care professional who told us the care in the home was good. Staff were responsive and liaised well to work jointly in support of the people living at 1c Westover Close.
