All Inspections

15 August 2012

During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who used the service. They told us that staff always treated them with respect and enabled them to make choices in their daily lives. Everyone we spoke with told us that staff were respectful and friendly and they looked forward to their visits. They said staff gave them the time they needed and were friendly.

We also spoke with three relatives and they told us that staff always took the time they needed with the person they were supporting. A relative told us that they had not been happy with one of the carers so they contacted the office and the carer had been changed. Another relative said 'They are very professional and efficient and treat 'very well'

We spoke to three social and health care professionals and they told us that the staff at Town and Country Care Services were well organised and very smart. They told us that they tried to give the best they could and always reported any changes to their manager who in turn contacted them.

We spoke with four staff. They told us they had received safeguarding training and records confirmed this. Staff had the training to protect people from harm and the risk if harm. Staff told us they would alert the manager if they had any concerns that abuse was taking place. Staff told us that their training had covered how to approach people with respect and that people's views were of central importance to their care.

All of the people we spoke with told us that the manager regularly checked the quality of the service.
