During a routine inspection

All the relatives of the people who use the service we spoke with said that staff who visited them understood their needs and provided care with dignity and respect. One person said their care worker was, 'excellent', and had 'hit it off very well' with their loved one. Another person said the organisation had been a 'life saver'. They said that they felt safe with the staff that cared for them. People told us that the manager or the senior staff member visited them to undertake an assessment. People said that staff always arrived on time and that they were regularly asked for their feedback on the service.

People received personalised care and support which was based on an assessment of their needs. We found that people and their relatives were involved in the development of their care plan and staff were recruited suitably. However, we also found that some records, especially where there had been a change in the care needs, had not been reviewed and updated at regular intervals.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with told us they were very happy and satisfied with the service. One person said, "The service is excellent". Another person we spoke with said, "The volunteers are very caring and very nice." They told us that the manager kept them well informed and they were given opportunities to provide feedback on the quality of the service. We found that the people who use the service were involved in the care planning and received a personalised care and support which was based on an assessment of their needs.
