There were 11 people living in the home at the time of the visit. We spoke to four residents and seven staff. One person said they felt "very lucky" to live there. Staff were described as "fair" "kind" and "very helpful". One person said that they were not happy but others said that they were very happy living in the home. Most people enjoyed the food and said that they had a choice of meals. We saw that food was cooked from fresh ingredients.
There were activities provided but not all people wanted to participate and people's wishes were respected.
Staff appeared motivated and said that they were supported but felt that the numbers of staff on duty at night were insufficient.
We found the environment to be in need of updating and repair and we were told there was a plan being considered for the refurbishment of some areas of the home.
There was a lack of quality assurance processes in place to monitor the quality of the service provided.
