During a routine inspection

People told us that when they commenced services from the agency they had been supplied with a service user guide which they found useful in determining if the agency could meet their individual needs.

They said they had been involved in the production of their care plans and the care staff provided their support in accordance with the instruction within the plan.

People told us they were very satisfied with the quality of the care they received from all the staff employed at the agency. One person told us, 'The service we get is excellent. It's taken a lot of pressure off us.'

People told us that, in their opinion, the staff employed at the agency were of good character and were competent in performing their duties. One person told us, 'All the staff are alright. They are a good bunch of people and very respectful.' Another person told us, 'We are very happy with all the staff supplied by the agency.'

People told us that they felt confident in discussing any areas of concern with the manager and felt confident that any complaints would be addressed to their satisfaction. Comments included, 'I feel the manager would always listen to us, I have no concerns at all and I am very happy with the agency.'

We found that the registered manager had initiated effective auditing procedures to ensure the quality of service provision was continually monitored.

During a routine inspection

Prior to our visit we reviewed all the information we had received from the provider. During the visit we spoke with two people who used the service and two relatives and asked them for their views. We also spoke with three care workers, the care coordinator and the registered manager. We also looked at some of the records held in the service including the care files for three people.

We found where people were able to they gave consent to their care and treatment. A relative told us, 'I was involved as my relative is not able to be. We have got the care plan to describe what is done.'

We found people received care and support that met their needs. A person who used the service told us, 'They (care workers) always follow my care plan.'

We found people were safeguarded from abuse. A person who used the service told us, 'I feel pretty safe I have nothing to worry about.'

We found that the staff team were supported through training. A person told us, 'Them (care workers) knowing what they are doing make me content.'

We found the provider assessed and monitored the quality of the service. A relative said, 'They come and do spot checks and make sure everything is running right.'
