All Inspections

7 January 2013

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two patients, two doctors, a physiotherapist and the practice manager.

Both patients we spoke with praised the service. They said it was easy to make an appointment and they were seen on time. Patients felt involved in their care. We saw that the centre was well equipped, clean and patients' privacy was protected.

The service had recently conducted a questionnaire survey of 100 patients with positive results. Almost all responding patients had rated the quality of the service as "excellent" or "good."

The provider did not allow new staff members to start work at the centre until they had passed required recruitment and employment checks. We met a locum doctor who had started work at the centre on the day of the inspection. She described the centre as welcoming and well organised with a good induction process.

The staff were involved in monitoring and auditing the quality of care. We saw evidence of regular audits and analysis of incidents. Staff members confirmed there were regular opportunities to discuss these results and suggest ideas for improvement.

10 May 2011

During a routine inspection

We spoke to one person using the service about their experience. This person emphasised the convenience and quality of the service and had chosen to use Tower Hill Medical Centre in preference to their NHS general practitioner for a number of years. This person's views were consistent with the centre's most recent patient survey results which were also positive.
