All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke to one person who used the service and they told us that they liked living at the home. They told us how they had helped prepare the home for Christmas and how they had bought a tree. We were not able to communicate with all people living at the home due to their complex communication needs. However we did see that people were very comfortable with staff and that staff knew the people they were supporting well.

We talked to the staff who worked at the home. They explained the home was due to close and how this had an impacted on staff moral. As yet they did not have a date for closure but they were ensuring the people who live at the home were not effected in the interim and that their quality of experience remained the same.

We looked at people's care records. Mostly the records were consistent and complete. However we found that some records needed to be updated to ensure that they were accurate and up to date. We discussed this with the deputy manager who told us they would make sure this was put into place.

We looked at staff records and found the staff had consistent supervision and were well trained. We also saw there were systems in place to make sure people who used their service and their representatives could raise concerns and these would be dealt with promptly.

During a routine inspection

People who were able said that they liked it at Red House and that staff helped them all the time. Not everyone was able to tell me what they thought but through observations it was clear that people were relaxed in the house. They could freely access any part of the house and the interactions with staff were positive.
