During a routine inspection

We spoke with the people who lived in the home. One person told us that they had a care plan and they had helped to put this together and agreed it. They told us that the staff gave them the support that they needed. A second person had been to the local shopping centre and had enjoyed going out. They said that they also enjoyed listening to music. They told as that they were involved in a recent care plan review and were going to sign their new care plans. A third person told us that they liked to go to musicals. They said that the staff helped them to budget their money so that they could go out regularly. They also told us that the staff supported them to have regular contact with their family.

A fourth person told us that they had enjoyed taking photographs and showed us some of their photos. We saw another person taking part in a musical activity. It was clear that each person was supported to follow their particular interests.

People had consented to their care and treatment. Where people could not consent decisions were made in their best interests. People's needs were assessed and they had individual person centred plans so that their needs were met. Medicines were managed safely so that people got the right medication at the right times.

There was good support for staff and they had a range of training so that they could meet people's needs. There was an effective complaints procedure and complaints were listened to and investigated.

During a routine inspection

People told us they are happy living at 7 Eworth Close with one person saying 'the staff are good and I like living here'. Another person said 'everything is fine, if I had any problems I would talk to staff'. People gave us lots of information about life in the home and this is incorporated within the main body of the report.
