During a routine inspection

We spoke with the people who lived in the home. One person told us that they like living there. They said that the staff gave them all the help and support that they needed and always asked for their consent before giving support. This person said that they had helped to put together their care plan and they agreed with it. They told us that they liked to go shopping and to a drop-in centre. They said that they were involved in meal planning and the meal preparation.

A second person told us that they had been to a garden project and they had been painting. They said that they went dancing on Fridays. They told us that they had all their health care checks such as hearing, dental and optical care. A third person told us that they had been to an art class. The fourth person had been into town to do some shopping and had enjoyed going out.

People had consented to their care and treatment. Where people could not consent decisions were made in their best interests. People's needs were assessed and they had individual person centred plans to make sure that their needs were met. Medicines were managed safely and were given to people individually so that people got the right medication at the right times.

There was good support for staff and they had a range of training so that they could meet people's needs. The records were accurate and fit for purpose so that people received the right care and support and were kept safe.
