During an inspection looking at part of the service
At the time of our visit to Lloyd Lodge on 20 December 2010 there was deep snow outside and the temperature was well below freezing. Inside, the home was comfortably warm and people were quite warm enough in ordinary indoor clothing. Only one person indicated they were chilly, but the manager explained this person always feels cold and had been given a warm jacket and a blanket to wrap up in.
We had a look round the home. Both lounges were warm, and so were the bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and so on which we looked at. There were extra blankets available for people if they wanted them.
One person we spoke with during our visit said "staff are very good, very attentive and they come if I call". We saw that there were enough staff on duty to meet the needs of the people who live at Lloyd Lodge.
