During a routine inspection

The five people living at 6 Montserrat Road were unable to answer direct questions due to their learning disability. Staff who knew the people well were able to communicate well and understand people's communication methods. Some people were very verbal and it was possible to understand their wishes. People were seen smiling at staff and expressing their choices and wishes. People appeared to be happy and content with the care they were receiving

During a routine inspection

The people using the service were not able to verbally communicate with us. We therefore spent time during our visit observing the care and support being given and how staff interacted with people. We observed staff engaging positively with people who live in the home and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Staff communicated well with people and supported them in ways that promoted their choices, control and inclusion. Staff we spoke with demonstrated their understanding of people's needs and of the agreed strategies for meeting them.
