During a routine inspection

We were able to speak with one person during our visit. This person told us they had received enough information at the time of their initial consultation to make a choice about the correct procedure for them. They told us they had received written information about the procedure, and been offered a period of time in which to reflect on their decision and cancel treatment if they wished.

They told us that during the pre-operative assessment the registered nurse had discussed the procedure again with them, as well as completing their medication history and patient agreement. They had also received the 'Patient Guide ' Cosmetic Surgery'. This guide contained information about how the process worked from initial consultation to post operative care, and emergency contact details for support following surgery. The complaints procedure was also included in the 'Patient Guide'.
