During a routine inspection

People told us that they were happy with the support that they received and that it enabled them to be independent. One person said, "I go out quite a lot- most days I am out. When I'm indoors I do my own washing and washing up and put things in the machine. I also help X (member of staff) with the cooking and my favourite is quiche". Staff we spoke with enjoyed working for the service and felt well supported by them. One member of staff said, "I enjoy working for Affinity and I love working with X (the person using the service). I feel very supported, all my training is up to date and I get supervision every 4-6 weeks".

We found that people were supported by staff who were skilled and experienced. The support they received encouraged their independence and allowed them ongoing access to the community. We found that people were supported by staff who were confident to report any issues with their safety and knew the correct procedure to follow if they had concerns.
