During a routine inspection

There were eleven people receiving respite care support in their own home. We spoke by telephone following the visit with four people using the service or their relative, three members of staff and two visiting professionals.

All the people using the service confirmed that staff were respectful and praised the service they received. One person said "The staff are very pleasant" and another that "The lady who comes is very friendly'. They confirmed that their personal information was kept private and confidential

All the people we spoke with confirmed that they had good relationships with staff and that they were able to make decisions about their care. Relatives told us that the care was discussed with them during an assessment prior to the service commencing. One person described the service as excellent and another told us 'The staff are very helpful' and that they were delighted with the service provided. Another person told us "It's fantastic".

We found that risk assessments were not always fully completed and that potential risks were not always addressed satisfactorily.
