During a routine inspection

We did not speak with people who used the service during this inspection. However, we did read all of the service user satisfaction surveys that had been completed and took note of the positive responses about the service that people received. There were also positive responses within the surveys received back from health/social care professionals.

The agency had an effective system in place to assess people's needs and to ensure that the care plans contained clear guidance for staff to follow in order to meet people's needs.

The agency took steps to protect people by following appropriate recruitment procedures to ensure that only the right people were employed and provided staff with training in safeguarding so that they had the skills and knowledge to protect people.

During a routine inspection

As part of the review we spoke by telephone with thirteen people who used the service, to find out their views about the support and care provided. People said they were very satisfied with the regular staff that provided their care and support. Some people were not always sure who would be visiting them when the usual care staff were not available.

People commented that they trusted and felt safe with the care staff who supported them. The majority of people stated that they were aware of their care plan and the notes that were recorded by the care staff.

Two relatives spoken with confirmed that the care staff were always friendly and professional and gave consistent care and support to their relative. Some of the comments received indicated that they had not always received a written response to complaints that had been made.
