During an inspection looking at part of the service

When we visited the service in March 2011, we observed staff interacting with a person using the service, who was displaying some behaviour characteristic with their health condition. We saw that staff clearly knew this person well and were able to deal with the behaviour in a calm professional way and we saw the person using the service respond very quickly to this.

When we visited the service for the second time, to review improvements, all people using the service were out on social leave.

During a routine inspection

On the day of our visit, there was only one person using the service in the home due to all other people being at Scope day services. We were unable to speak with this person due to their complex needs and so we made observations of staff interactions with them.
