During a routine inspection

People living at Croft Village told us that they liked living there and were happy with the services and support they received. We spent time talking to people living there and observing daily life and we did not receive any negative comments at all about the standard of personal care and individual attention they received, the food on offer to them, the cleanliness of the home and the staff approaches and support. Everyone we spoke with told us they liked the staff and "enjoyed" living there.

People we spoke with told us that they had not felt the need to complain and one said they "trusted" their key worker to talk to if they were not happy.

People told us about their many leisure activities, theatre trips, pub lunches, sports, bus trips out and about the recent Jubilee celebrations in the home and the ones they attended outside it. People were able to take part in a wide range of activities and personal interests. The craft and work shop facilities allowed people to be creative and learn new skills.

People living there told us that they went out when they wanted to with family or friends and to attend recreational groups and organisations as well as church services out side the village.

People told us the food was "very good" and "really good" and told us that they were always asked what they liked and that the staff knew what they liked. We saw the food choices on the menu but people told us they could have alternatives and participate in making their own meals. People had recently taken part in a project with catering staff to devise new more varied and nutritious menus and had sampled different suggested foods. They had been able to give their opinions on the food and how the new menu was developed.
