During a routine inspection

People who lived in Langrigg House told us, 'I made my own decision to move in and I have never regretted it'. Relatives told us, 'I visit here most days as I live close by. I have found the care to be good and the staff always keep me informed if my relative is not well and needs to see the doctor'.

From our observations and conversations with people who lived in the home we could see that people were happy with the care given to them and relaxed in the company of the care staff. There was sufficient staff on duty during our visit to ensure people received the care and support to meet all the assessed needs. Care was given in a manner that respected people's privacy and dignity.

We saw that all care and support plans were up to date and relevant to the individual. All the records that the home was required to keep were in place and stored securely although easily accessed when required.

People told us they were very happy living in Langrigg House and were pleased with the care and support they received. One person said, 'I come regularly for a two week stay and always enjoy my time in the home'.

Relatives also spoke with us and said their family members were very well looked after. One visitor said, 'I visit very often and have always found the care to be good. If I have any concerns I am never worried about voicing them'.

We found good standards of care and saw evidence that care records were up to date and appropriate to each individual.

We asked people living in Langrigg House and visitors to the home about this and they were all very complimentary about the care they received.

"I really like it here and the lasses are very kind".

"The food is very good and we have a new cook".

'The girls always have time to speak to us.'

"I would soon tell the manager if I had anything to say. I always ask others living in the home if they wish me to speak on their behalf at the residents' meetings".

" I am the 'wii' champion"

"The staff in this home are extremely caring and look after my mother very well. I don't worry as I know she is good hands".
