During a routine inspection

One person said living in the home is alright, however, they felt there are some house rules that are restrictive and in particular not been able to use the kitchen after a certain time of night. They said they are involved in the assessment and care planning processes. They also said they are involved in reviewing their care and support needs and attend meetings to discuss these. Another person says they like living in the home and the people supporting them. However, they also said that they plan to live in a home of their own in the future and people are helping them to make this happen. They went on to say that they have had problems in the past, however, there are people here that they can talk to and they help them with their problems.

One person said they have close contact with their family who they visit on a regular basis. People also said they enjoy going on holiday and one said they particularly enjoyed a holiday to Bruge via the North Sea Ferry.

Another said they enjoy spending time at home with their parents.

People using the service said they feel safe. People said they like the people supporting them as they listen to what they say and help them.

People say they like living in the home and have everything they need. One person says they have a bedroom and their own lounge where they keep their computer. Another said their bedroom is great, but they are hoping to move into a home of their own.

People say they like the people caring for them. One person says they like their support worker as they can talk to them and ask for advice. Thy said they help them to do things and help them see things in different ways. One person said the particularly like the care manager as they are great and listen to what they say.

People say they like the people supporting them. One person says their key worker listens to them and helps them to do things like look after themselves. They went on to say that they help them with any problems they have and if they don't know how to do something they are always there. They also said that in the past they have had problems with relationships and they have been supported to look at things differently and consider what is best for them.

People using the service say they feel supported. One person says they are supported to go to Doctors appointments, on holidays and to look after themselves. One person said they are supported to go to work on a voluntary basis at a local charity caf' which they enjoy.
