During a routine inspection

At the time of our inspection two people lived at the home. One had moved in the previous week and the other was planning to move out the following week. We met both people, observed their care and support and spoke to the person who had recently moved in about their experience. We also met and observed two members of staff, a manager and the registered manager who is also registered to manage a similar home situated next door.

The atmosphere in the home was relaxed and friendly and people were spoken to in a respectful manner and there was clearly a good rapport between staff and people living in the home.

We found that care was planned in accordance with people's wishes, preferences and in their best interests. There were adequate numbers of suitably skilled and experienced staff.

People were safeguarded against the risk of abuse and there was an open policy on complaints, including for people who may be unable to complain verbally.
