All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who received a service and with the relatives of two other people who used the service. People told us all the staff maintained high standards of respect for their dignity and their home. A person's relative told us that the small number of staff meant their relative always knew and felt comfortable with whichever staff came. A person who received a service said their initial assessment was 'thorough, they looked at what I could do and what I needed, they don't intrude on what I can do for myself'.

Both the people receiving a service that we spoke with said it enabled them to remain independent in their own home. A person's relative told us the care workers 'notice things like skin irritations and catch them before they become a problem'. Another person's relative told us 'They've been fantastic in helping (our relative) start and end the day. The staff show a good understanding of working with people with dementia'.

A person told us the service adapted to their needs as they changed over time, and formally reviewed their care plan every year. All the people we spoke to were confident in the arrangements made for protecting their security.

Two people described how a new member of staff had been introduced. They had been informed in advance that this would occur. The new staff member shadowed the provider on visits before working alone.

All the people we spoke to described the service as reliable or very reliable. People said they were always informed by telephone if their expected visit was delayed. One person told us it was easy to arrange to change the time of visits in order to fit with changes in their daily routine. People told us it was easy to contact the service and that the provider was open to any comments, questions or observations.
