All Inspections

During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with tenants, and relatives. A number of communication methods( sign language, pictorial cards) were used to help us understand the experiences of people using the service, because people using the service had complex needs (autism and deafness) which meant they were not able to tell us their experiences.

The tenants who we spoke to told us they "felt safe" and that they liked living there, they liked their activities and daily choices.

The relatives told us that they had always seen staff treat people with respect and maintain their dignity and that activities were varied and interesting.

One relative told us that staff "looked after their family member very well" " I have full confidence that my relative is well looked after and has an excellent standard of care"

During a routine inspection

We spoke to staff who told us: 'we involve people as much as possible in day to day activities and encourage people to make decisions'. One relative told us: 'they support 'x' to live as independently as possible' and 'staff support 'x' to maintain contact with the family, I get letters and phone calls'. 'staff present as bonded and interested in developing people's skills', 'we have not looked back they are brilliant in every respect, if there is something they don't know they will try and find out', 'staff are sympathetic, firm and respect people's dignity' and 'people are encouraged to have an independent life'. 'they support 'x' to cook their own meals, I am very pleased with the level of support they provide'. One relative told us 'I have absolutely no concerns what so ever'.
