During a routine inspection

There was one person residing at Beaumont House at the time of our visit. We asked them if they were happy living there and they told us they were. We also asked them if they were treated well by the staff, they told us: 'They are all lovely, they are very good.'

A relative spoken with during our visit told us that they were satisfied with the care and support their relative received. They explained: 'It is a big thing to consider putting your parent in a home, but they have been very kind here and we can talk to the manager at any time.'

An appropriate assessment process had been followed. This made sure that the person's care and support needs had been properly identified and the manager/provider had satisfied herself that those needs could be met.

We observed the staff treating the person using the service with respect and we saw them helping and supporting them in a relaxed and friendly manner and at a pace that suited them.

During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were happy living at Beaumont House.

We were told that there wasn't much to do during the day and one person had to spend every day in their bedroom as they couldn't walk to the lounge.

Relatives visiting at the time of our visit told us that there was no problem with the care that their relative received and they always looked well cared for. They told us that they did think that their relative was lonely though, as they didn't see anyone throughout the day.
