During a routine inspection
The people living at the home had been there for a long time. The home had not admitted any new people for over 15 years and one person had lived at the home for over 20 years.
People had support to remain well and healthy. Their privacy and dignity was respected and their independence promoted. People indicated and told us that they were happy living at the service.
People looked happy and relaxed in the company of the owner/registered manager. We found that the home had a relaxed atmosphere. People said they could choose what they wanted to do and were consulted about their care. We found that people's health needs were supported and the service worked with health and social care professionals to maintain and improve people's health and wellbeing. The owners of the service provided all the care and support that people needed.
People had been supported to communicate so that they were able to say when they were not happy about something.
People said that they were happy with their rooms and with the environment in general.
Records that were kept were up to date and were fit for purpose. We did find that a care plan was not stored securely. We spoke with the owner/registered manager who took action and locked the record up safely.
