During a routine inspection

The people that we spoke to by phone told us how well supported they are by the carers who visit them in their homes. Examples of comments made included 'the carers are very, very caring they are wonderful', 'the carers are very caring, they always ask if there is anything else they can do ', 'I find the carers very, very good indeed, nothing is too much trouble ', and 'I'm very happy with the service I've found them very, very good'. These comments are excellent evidence that people feel their care needs are met. People told us that they are able to stay in their own homes with the support that carers provide them. This means people who use the service keep independence and the quality of life that they want due to the support of the carers who visit them.

People who use the service benefit because their care plans explain to staff what support they need clearly and are helpful and informative.

People who use the service are cared for by staff who have an awareness and good understanding of their needs. This should mean people receive care from staff who know how to support and care for them.

The service actively involves people in monitoring and reviewing the quality of service and the care they receive.

The service is run for the best interests of people who use it and is run in a flexible way that treats each person as a unique individual. One person said 'you are not just a number you are a person'. This comment helps demonstrate that people receive a unique and personal service.
