During a routine inspection

People told us that their care needs had been discussed with them and that their care package had been set up how they wanted it. People also said that they received a reliable service, were treated with respect and thought their staff were knowledgeable and professional. Comments made to us by people who use the service included 'I was involved in the assessment', 'very reliable, if they are going to be more that five minutes late they ring to tell me', 'when they are here they'd do anything you asked them', 'I'm quite happy with the service', 'they fall over backwards to help' and 'I would go as far as to say that the staff who come are all very, very helpful'. The records we looked at confirmed that people had been involved in developing their plan of care and that staff were providing the service that had been agreed.

The staff we spoke to said that the service was well organised and provided people with a good service. Staff also told us that they felt well supported and were provided with suitable training to help them do their jobs well. Comments made by staff included 'we usually get chance to meet the person before, to introduce ourselves', 'we do it according to what they want', 'people do like continuity and the same carers if at all possible', 'we do get quite a bit of support' and 'the training meets all my needs'. The records we looked at confirmed that staff were provided with regular training and support, to help them do their jobs well.
