During a routine inspection

We spoke with three people about their experience of living at East Bank Road. Comments included "I like living here" and "The staff look after me"

Throughout our observations, we saw that staff at East Bank Road treated people with dignity and respect. We saw that staff clearly knew people and their individual likes and ways of communicating. Staff spent one-to-one time talking to people and supporting people.

We reviewed the care plans of four people living at East Bank Road. We saw that they were comprehensive, person centred documents that clearly reflected people’s preferences and individual health and support needs. The plans were easy to follow and were designed in an easy read format with written text supported by pictures and photographs.

We found that the home was clean and free from odour. A seven-day schedule outlined the cleaning to be carried during the morning, afternoon and evening periods. This was supported by a cleaning specification that detailed the item to be cleaned, this minimized the chance of cross infection.

We spoke to four staff. Comments we received were "I love it here" and "it is very rewarding, and I get a lot of job satisfaction knowing that you are helping somebody."

No complaints had been received about the service over the previous twelve months.
