During a routine inspection

The people we spoke with told us that the service was good. They said the staff treated them with respect. People said, "We have a list saying who is coming and they are pretty prompt" and 'The staff are all very pleasant.'

People told us they were regularly asked if their service was satisfactory. They told us that the senior staff assessed their needs. In the care plans we looked at we saw the instructions for staff minimised risks to people's health and well-being. One person told us, 'They are bordering on brilliant.'

Staff told us they had training in safeguarding people from abuse.

Staff also told us they felt supported to work effectively.

The provider had systems in place that enabled them to identify problems swiftly and act upon them to keep people safe at all times. This meant that the service was managed well.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with one of the 15 people who used the service and the relatives (or supporters) of four others. People told us they were pleased with the service and with the care workers who visited them or their relative. One person said the service was, "Brilliant, very good' and another commented, 'They deserve a pat on the back'.

The provider used a variety of ways to check that people were satisfied with the agency and receiving the correct care. This included annual surveys and visits to people at home to speak with them about how everything was going. One relative told us they were, 'So pleased' with the care workers and that the agency was very good at keeping in touch with them. The agency had not had any complaints made but people told us they could speak with the manager if they needed to. One person commented that when minor things needed to be dealt with, 'Something gets done'.

People told us that they felt people were safe with the agency's staff. The manager and staff knew what to do if they were concerned that someone might be at risk.

There was a process in place for checks to be done before staff began work. Some improvements were needed to make sure that these were always sufficient. We spoke with four care workers who all told us they were happy working for the agency. They felt well supported by the manager and office staff. The care workers told us the service was good, one said, 'People's dignity is always taken care of'.
