All Inspections

9 December 2011

During a routine inspection

People told us they were well-looked after and they got on well with their carers. One person said, 'The care is fine. My carer looks after me in every way.' Another told us, 'Since I've been with my carer I've been very happy and settled. I want to stay with her for ever.'

They said they were involved in making decisions about their care and support. One person said, 'My carer helps me to do the things I want to do.' Another told us, 'I get to choose what I do every day and my carer helps me if I need her to.'

People were supported to develop their own hobbies and interests. For example one person said they wanted to learn to cook and be more independent when they moved in with their carer. They told us, 'I can now make noodles on my own, and I am learning how to make cakes. I can also go shopping on my own now.'

People told us they felt safe using the agency and trusted the carers. One person said, 'If I had a problem I would tell XXXX (their carer) and they would sort it our.' Another told us their carer had got them a mobile phone so they could ring their carer if they were going to be late home.
