During an inspection in response to concerns

People told us that they were comfortable at the home and they thought the home was generally tidy.

One of the reasons for this visit was to see if people at the home felt safe to be there and to find out if they had any concerns about the people who lived in the flat above the care home. Three people from the care home told us that they had no concerns about the couple living above the care home and said, 'They are a lovely couple.'

People at the home told us, 'We feel well cared for by the staff at the home.' We observed good interactions between people who used the service and staff. One person told us that although staff were very good, there was an occasion where they had to complain as staff did not respond to someone at the home in a timely manner. However, it was soon resolved and this person had their needs met. People told us the staff were friendly, polite and approachable.

Relatives told us that they felt the staff were good with their relatives and understood their needs. We were told by a relative and by someone who lived at the home that when staff took their breaks together as they often did, there was no one to supervise people in the home. When both care workers on duty were assisting someone who needed the help of two staff, no one was available to meet the needs of the remaining people in the home.
