During a routine inspection

People's needs were assessed and care and treatment was planned and delivered in line with their individual care plan. The clinic carried out vaccinations and immunisation to people who were travelling abroad. Relevant details about medical history, allergies and medication were taken before treatment was given.

Medicines were safely administered. Leaflets were available explaining the different types of vaccinations available. Medication (vaccines) was stored in the main fridge in the store area. There were smaller fridges in each of the nurses rooms. All the fridges had locks.

There were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection. There was an infection control and safe managment of waste policies. The policies covered hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, waste disposal and storage and cleaning.

There were enough qualified, skilled and experienced staff to meet people's needs. The nurses who worked at the clinic were suitability qualified and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

During a routine inspection

It was not possible for us to speak to people who use services during our visit; however we have considered patients' feedback from the patient satisfaction survey conducted in 2011. People who use the service rated the clinic as very good. They were happy with the treatment they received and the attitude of the staff they met. People who use the service felt that the staff can answer their questions and provide them with good quality treatment.
