During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who used the service and we looked at patients' feedback from the patient satisfaction survey conducted in 2012.

The person we spoke with said that they were asked to give verbal consent to their treatments and the treatments and side effects were explained well. They also said they were very satisfied with their care and treatment and that staff seemed very knowledgeable. Their comments included:

'Everything has been brilliant.'

'Fantastic service, everything explained so well.'

'It's great having so much information to take away to refer to when you need it.'

People who used the service said the consulting rooms were clean and that staff washed their hands and wore gloves when administering treatment. We saw that the clinic was clean, tidy and well maintained.

We saw from the patient satisfaction surveys that people who used the service had said that staff were informative and helpful. Staff were described as 'fabulous', 'courteous' and 'friendly'.

We saw that people who used the service had their comments and complaints listened to and acted on effectively.

During an inspection looking at part of the service

We did not contact people who use the services when carrying out this review.

The last time we visited the service in December 2011 people said they were satisfied with the services the received.

However, we found that arrangements were not in place regarding safeguarding and could not be assured that all staff were aware of the appropriate procedures. We issued a compliance action and the purpose of this review was to see what action the care provider has taken in order to comply with regulation 11.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with one person who uses the service and they told us staff are good at providing information and advice and allowed them to make a choice about which treatments they would like to receive

The person we spoke with told us that the health brief meets their personal needs and preferences. They also told us that they discuss their travel history at each consultation appointment.

The person told us they had no concerns about the service they receive, and if they had any concerns or complaints, they would speak to staff. They also told us that staff are very good and helpful.
