During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with five staff and looked at six records. We spoke with seven people who used the service. One by telephone following our visit, six in person at their homes. The people we visited told us they were glad to be able to speak well of the service.

People told us that staff treated them with respect and dignity. They told us they were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People all told us that they were well cared for and that staff were "caring and gentle" and "valuable to us ". People said they had regular staff who supported them which meant that staff knew them well, understood what their needs were and helped with trust.

We saw that care plans and risk assessments were up to date and detailed people's care needs.

People we spoke with told us that staff treated them well and that they felt safe. People we spoke with told us that they thought the staff were well trained and knew what they were doing.

Staff told us they had lots of valuable and relevant training and felt confident in their job. One staff member told us 'I really like working for them, it's very rewarding'.

We were told that there had not been any complaints during the last twelve months. The senior staff we spoke with told us how they would deal with a complaint if they received one. People we spoke with all told us that they knew who to contact to raise a concern or make a complaint if they needed to.

During a routine inspection

During our visit we spoke with five staff and looked at records. We spoke with eight people who used the service by telephone following our visit.

People told us that staff treated them with respect and listened to them so that they were involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.

People all told us that they were well cared for and that staff were 'Wonderful' and 'Excellent'. People said they had regular staff who supported them which meant that staff knew them well and understood what their needs were. We saw that care plans and risk assessments were up to date and detailed people's care needs.

People we spoke with told us that staff treated them well and that they felt safe.

People we spoke with told us that they thought the staff were well trained and knew what they were doing so people felt safe. Staff told us they had training and could ask for additional training if they had a specific need. For example, dementia or epilepsy.

We were told that there had not been any complaints during the last twelve months but the manager told us how they would deal with a complaint if they received one. People we spoke with all told us that they knew who to contact to raise a concern or make a complaint if they needed to.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to six people who use this agency and they told us they were involved in decisions, and the agency supported them with their needs. They said the agency provided the service so they as carers can have peace of mind while they take time for themselves. One person said 'I feel I have been thrown a life line, knowing that I can have time each week to myself.'

People said that they had discussed the support needed for the person they cared for and preferred routines with staff. They told us they were very happy with the care and support provided in their absence. One person said 'The staff member we have has been matched so well with my husband, and I feel very confident in their abilities. The support and care they provided was excellent'.

People told us they felt safe receiving a service from the agency and had no concerns. They felt that staff that supported them had the skills and experience required.
