During a routine inspection

People said staff respected their rights and decisions relating to their care and treatment and were satisfied with the management of their medication. Some said they were involved in planning their support however others could not recollect being consulted. People said the home was clean and felt it was comfortable and well maintained. Though bedrooms were not all fitted with locks, they said staff and their peers usually respected their privacy. Some people had been issued with keys to lock their bedrooms. People told us that in general they had autonomy in the way they lived their daily lives. Two people felt routines specific to the times they got up and had breakfast did not afford adequate choice. One person told us that though they were called at 6.a.m. that they sometimes didn't get up until later. People felt safe and most had someone they could speak with outside of the home if they had any concerns. They told us they had opportunity to comment on routines, food and any concerns or issues at house meetings. They said staff encouraged and supported them to express their views. Individuals had been asked for feedback as part of the home's annual quality survey and felt their views had been taken seriously.
