Other evidence

Observation confirmed that people had access to seating that did not restrict their mobility. They were seen to be able to move easily from their seating position. For those who have a mobility restriction a mobile hoist was available in the home along with suitable ground floor accommodation.

Equipment to relieve pressure areas was available to those people who needed it along with a suitable adjustable height bed. Bedrails were being used and records seen confirmed that the use of these had been risk assessed. The laundry room was found to have the necessary equipment to launder all linen appropriately.

Although the stair lift was found not to be working staff confirmed that none of the current residents require its use to gain access to the first floor. The provider was aware that this would need to be addressed when anyone presents any difficulty in managing the stairs.

Since the last site visit the provider has purchased new bedding and towels. Mattresses and pillows were found to have plastic protectors.
