All Inspections

8 July 2012

During a routine inspection

We called unannounced on the 05/07/2012. Two residents who had just arrived and two staff on duty were available at the time of our inspection. We spoke with both residents, the provider, therapists and received comments from other professional agencies such as social services. Responses we received were positive and reflected how the service was run in the best interest of the people who were receiving support.

Comments from the residents and staff included, "My first impressions were how supportive the staff are." Also, "The settling in period has been smooth with a lot of help from the staff."

We discussed respect and dignity with both staff and residents. One staff member said, "It is important to give respect and build up peoples confidence for independent living." One resident said, "The staff are respectful and polite."

None of the residents we spoke with had any issues about the standard of care they had received so far. They told us that they would be comfortable in raising any concerns they may have.

We spoke with Lancashire County Council Contracts monitoring department and they had no concerns with the service and had not received any 'safeguarding' alerts recently.
