During a routine inspection

Ten people who used the service and their relatives we spoke with told us they were very happy with the service they received, that the staff were very caring, and they felt safe with the care provided. All ten people told us the staff attitude was very good and that they were always on time. One person who used the service told us; "The staff know our daughter very well and the provider is quick to respond to our requests for changes in care when needed '.

All of the people we spoke with who used the service told us they were involved in the planning of their care, and had been asked for their views when reviews were carried out.

We reviewed information about six people's care and found that their care needs were being planned for. We spoke with seven staff and found that they understood people's care needs and how to protect them from risk and harm. We found that staff had adequate training and supervision and were supported by the agency's management to do their job. The provider used effective systems to regularly check that care was being provided safely and appropriately including regular unannounced spot checks on staff during their working day.

During a routine inspection

People we spoke with who used the service said they had been asked by Eternal Care UK Limited about the support they needed. They said the staff were aware of how to support them, and that they were good at listening to them. They said they knew there was a care plan for them, and that they were happy that we examined it as part of the inspection.

They told us that the agency had visited them before it started providing a service to see their home and to ask them about their care needs. They said they were able to ask staff when they needed help or advice and staff listened to them.

People who used the service told us the same staff always visited and they were always on time. They said the staff were respectful, and they felt safe when being supported. People told us they were regularly contacted by the staff at the office who were willing to speak with them on the phone, and to visit them to sort out any problems they had.

The feedback we had from people who received support from the agency was positive about the way staff supported them, and about the quality of care they provided. All were aware of their care plan, a copy of which was in their home. Some comments we received which reflected people's views of the service were: 'I can depend on the staff and feel I trust them' and 'We are very happy with the staff who come to our home'.
