We checked that people who use this service

  • Will have their medicines at the times they need them, and in a safe way.
  • Wherever possible will have information about the medicine being prescribed made available to them or others acting on their behalf.

How this check was done

We reviewed all the information we hold about this provider and carried out a visit on 24/07/2012.

Our judgement

People were protected against the risks associated with medicines because the provider had appropriate arrangements in place to manage medicines.

The provider was meeting this standard.

User experience

People told us that staff handled all their medication and did not comment in any detail.

Other evidence

Appropriate arrangements were in place in relation to the recording of medicine. Staff gave medicines to people who use the service safely, in that training is given to all staff that dispense it, storage was seen to be in accordance to guidance and policies overall. Controlled drugs cupboard were stored within a locked cabinet secured within a locked cabinet in accordance with national guidelines from the relevant professional bodies and requirements of the relevant legislation. Recording charts and systems for booking in and returning medication were seen to be kept in good order and completed appropriately.
