All Inspections

During a routine inspection

We spoke with most of the people at Melton Court Care Centre during our inspection visits over the two days.

Four people said that staff were caring and they were looked after well. They said that they were looking forward to the better weather so that they could go out. Two people said that the activities co-ordinator always tried including most of them and that they took part in different activities.

People made comments about the corridor carpet being a trip hazard.

Three people said that they were happy at the service and felt they were safe.

Five people said that they enjoyed the meals and they were able to have hot or cold drinks anytime.

During a routine inspection

This was an unannounced inspection. On the day of our visit we spoke with all of the people living at the home and the staff who were at work.

We also spoke with visiting relatives and professionals and sought their views of the service provided.

The comments in general were very positive about the service and staff members. These were some of the comments;

'I have really been looked after well. The carers have to do everything for me.'

'The food is good here. They have to cater for all of us. It must be difficult sometimes. If I didn't like what they gave me I'd ask for something else.'

'The interior is a little tired looking. We could do with some new carpets and pictures. Having said that, it is very homely and friendly. I like it here.'

One of the relatives said that staff did not have time to sit and chat with people since they were busy with jobs they needed to do. Most people who use the service and their relatives said recreational activities at the home were very good and they had a variety of activities to include everyone.
