During a routine inspection

On the day we visited there were 12 people living at Grenoble Rest home. We spoke with two people who lived at the home, care staff and the manager. We also spent time in the communal area and observed the care staff providing care.

People told us they were happy with the care they received. One person said, 'I get looked after well.' They added, 'It's good it's the right size for me.'

People told us there was plenty for them to do. We saw the manager and staff encouraged people to get involved in decorating the home for Christmas. One person said, 'We play ball games and a man comes and sings to us. In the summer we sit outside.'

People told us the food was nice and they had a choice of what to eat. One person said, 'If we ask for anything they will get it for us.'

We looked around the home and saw it was clean and odour free.

The provider reviewed staffing levels on a monthly basis. There were enough staff to meet people's needs.

During a routine inspection

Eleven people were living in the home when we visited. During our visit we spoke with four people who lived there, three visitors and two members of staff. We looked at three people's care records and spoke with the owner who was also the registered manager. We also spent time observing how people were supported with their needs.

People told us they knew how to make a complaint if they needed to. They also said they felt safe living at the home as staff looked after them very well.

We saw people received individualised care and support, from staff who were knowledgeable about their needs, wishes and preferences.

People made comments such as, 'Oh yes I'm very comfortable here' and 'They [staff] do whatever they can to help, I can't fault them.'

A visitor told us, 'I'm here every day, things are homely and I can't say a bad word about the place.'

When we undertook our visit to Grenoble rest home people who lived at the home told us they were happy with the care and support that they received.

People considered that their privacy and dignity was respected and people spoke highly of the care and support they received.

People told us they liked the food and that their preferences were met. People also said they enjoyed the activities provided.

During our visit we met with the people who lived at the home and we were told that staff supported people in the way each person wished.

One person told us, "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, we are all helped to do as much as we want for ourselves" another person said, "I like the fact that I have a key to my own room so I can be private if I wish or I can join in with things that go on here in the home".

When talking to one person about how people are supported to keep them safe from harm the person said, " I like the way we feel we can talk to staff about anything we are not sure about. I wouldn't hesitate to talk to the manager if I was worried about anything here".
