There are three people who live at Pendale Retirement Home. One person was being cared for in bed and was very frail and unable to tell us if they were happy and being well looked. We found one person was able to express their views about the home clearly and the other person was able to give us some limited feedback. Observation of care practices was undertaken throughout our visit to establish what the experience of living at Pendale Retirement Home is like. We asked one person about their medicines. They confirmed that care workers gave them the right amount of support and help with their medicines and that they had their medicines when they needed them. But, they did have some concern that prescribed creams were not always applied as needed. The person also told us that they were happy living at the home but often had to wait for assistance because of staff shortagesPeople told us the staff are very kind but there aren't enough of them.
'The staff are brilliant but you usually have wait when you want assistance because there is only one member of staff on duty'.
