During a routine inspection

We spoke with four people who had attended Blackberry Orthopaedic and Sports Clinic for treatment, they all told us that they were very happy with the treatment they had received and they were particularly pleased with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. One person told us that " I came here following a recommendation from a friend and I have already recommended the clinic to others".

We found that people were involved in discussions about their treatment options, and that they felt that they had been given a good understanding of their conditions and the treatment they required.

We found that the treatment rooms were clean and free from dirt and that there were effective systems in place to reduce the risk and spread of infection.

We looked at the feedback from people who had been treated at Blackberry Orthopaedic and Sports Clinic and we saw that they had stated that they were completely or very satisfied with the service.

We found the service to be safe and effectively managed.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people who had received treatment at the clinic. They told us that they were happy with the treatment and care provided by the staff. They said that they had received an assessment about their general health to find out if there were any areas of concern before they received their treatment. This was to make sure they were suitable for the treatment proposed and that the right procedure had been chosen to meet their individual needs.

The people also told us that the staff had given them information about the procedure for the treatment and this included the risks and benefits of the treatment. This was so they could make an informed choice about deciding to have the treatment.

One person told us that a medical professional had explained their treatment procedures 'in a way you could understand' and had used a model of the spine to help them understand what would happen during the procedure. This was so that people had received enough information about their procedures to give their valid consent for their chosen treatment.
