People where able, had agreed to the care and treatment they received.

The staffing cover had improved, which meant that people were cared for by regular staff that were aware of their needs and preferences.

Relatives felt that the service had a committed team of staff. People told us that they liked the staff that supported them and described them as caring and good at their job. Most people felt that there was usually enough staff available to meet their needs. Some staff felt that more staff were needed at times. The provider planned to review the staffing levels in May 2013 with involvement of the staff.

The premises were clean, safe and adequately maintained. People said they liked living at 'The Close' as it was comfortable and it felt like home.

Systems were in place to ensure that the service was well managed. The effect on people using the service was that people were receiving consistent standards of care and service.
