During a routine inspection

We talked with people who lived in the home and they said that they were well looked after. They said the staff always asked them how they would like things to be done. They said staff were always mindful of their privacy and treated them with respect.

People told us that staff were always available when they needed help. We found that staff had received a range of training to help them assist and support people in the home. Staff told us about the training that the home had arranged for them to attend so that they would recognise abuse and how to report it.

People said that the staff were friendly and always acted professionally. One person said, 'The staff are very good at looking after us' and another said, 'The staff are very professional'.

Care plans reflected an individualised service that was delivered around people's assessed needs. People's likes and dislikes, needs and preferences were known by staff who supported them and these were clearly recorded in care plans.

People said that staff were kind and supportive. On the day of our visit we saw people being supported sensitively and discreetly. Staff involved people fully in relation to all decisions made about their care and support. There was a friendly atmosphere within the home and people responded positively to interactions with staff and with each other. People were protected because staff were confident to recognise and report abuse. People felt that staff were able to meet their care and support needs well.
