All Inspections

During a routine inspection

During our inspection we spoke to four people who lived in the home and two visitors. One person told us: 'I have no issues or concerns and the staff are marvellous' and a relative said: 'I'm happy with Mum's care and the staff always reassure me'.

We found that consent to care had not always been obtained and that there was confusion about peoples capacity to make their own decisions.

Although peoples care plans contained some good information, we noted that professional advice about peoples care had not always been followed. We also saw that some risk assessments had been inaccurately completed which could have affected peoples care and welfare.

The people we spoke with felt safe in the home and staff understood how to identify and report any suspicions of abuse.

We found that the home had been cleaned to a good standard and that people were protected from the risk of the spread of infection.

A range of audits had been conducted which helped the provider to identify and make improvements to the service. People and staff were consulted about their views and comments and ideas were welcomed.
